Ade’s love of photography came at an early age – 31!

It started when the first affordable DSLR cameras hit the market, and he set out to take beautiful landscape photos. He travelled thousands of miles to capture incredible scenery in Yorkshire, Northumberland, and The Lake District. 

He is always an early adopter of new techniques. He started his HDR adventures in 2007, at a time when many photographers had never heard of “High Dynamic Range”. When off-camera flash triggers became available, he learned how to get great results with them, something he uses daily.

Ade has contributed to a number of leading photography magazines, including Advanced Photographer and Olympus Camera Magazine. He is familiar with a wide range of camera equipment and has a knack for capturing great shots in a number of genres. He has organised several exhibitions throughout the north, including at Round Foundry in Leeds and Abbot Gallery in Kendal. He currently runs his own business focused on commercial photography, working with businesses to bring their dreams to life, through photos that will connect with their customers.

Ade’s photography workshops are designed to be both fun and informative. While he is an incredible resource and teacher of new and experienced photographers, he understands intuitively that a photography workshop should be more like a tour of the best locations in a city or dale, rather than stopping at one place for the day.

When it comes to teaching photography, Ade’s style is anything but stuffy. Instead, he emphasizes the importance of being creative, personalizing your work, and letting your personality come through in your photographs. He uses analogies that help his students understand difficult concepts simply. Ask him about “exposure and beer”!
