Where We Will Go
Provisional route — adaptable on the day to make the most of local conditions, light, and parking.
1. West Burton Force (Cauldron Force) & Packhorse Bridge
Our meeting location. A quiet, picturesque falls framed by an ancient stone footbridge. Ideal for dialling in initial shutter speed settings and mastering water silky-motion without rush.

2. Aysgarth Falls (Upper, Middle & Lower)
Broad stepped limestone terraces producing powerful surges and swirling foam pools. A fantastic spot for testing polarising filters to cut river glare and composing layered rock structures. (Toilets and café on-site for a comfortable lunch/coffee break.)

3. Bainbridge Rapids & Hawes Village Stroll
A brief stop by the River Bain bridge followed by a gentle amble through Hawes. A good opportunity for street scenes, rustic stone cottages, and grabbing a warm drink.

4. Cotter Force & High Moorland Viewpoint
A flat 5-minute stroll delivers us to this sheltered, multi-tiered woodland cascade. We’ll follow this by heading up the moorland road to capture sweeping vistas across the valley basin.

5. Lake Semerwater Sunset Finish
Yorkshire’s largest natural glacial lake provides open skies, glacial erratic boulders for foreground interest, and mirrored water reflections as the sun dips behind the hills.
