Description
Session 2 – Leeds University Campus
Parts to is on the Campus of Leeds University and we will meet on the Parkinson steps at the front of iconic clock tower at 7 p.m.
In session one we learnt about camera settings like aperture and focal length, which was quite a technical session, in this one we won’t be concentrating on on on settings as much, but on the creative side.
Composition in photography uses:-
- shapes
- lines
- textures
- colours
- light and dark
- etc.
What we will be looking for for our interesting backgrounds onto which we place our models.
In this example, I have positioned and his head inside a square of plain stone and framed him between sets of pillars. His head is to the right of the photograph and he is looking out of the left of the photograph. Also his head is about 1/3 from the right of the photo and two-thirds from the left of the photo.
These are all things that contribute to the composition of a photograph and believe it and that these become second nature as you gain experience.
So this evening we will walk around the university campus for a few hours looking for interesting things all for the models standard front of you on top of or underneath…
